I haven’t written here lately, I have been working on the finalization of the blogdumps video new look…What a chore.
It fits the BlogDumps look better.

If you haven’t seen the new Wrongblog stop by, I love the new theme it fits the site well. While you’re there we have had a new writer and he is great! That’s all I am going to say about it you will have to check it out!

BlogDumps.com Is set up better too. I turned it into a start up page so now you can access all that the BlogDumps site has to offer from a super fast loading start up page.

I know some of you are wondering… Is Wolfbernz ever going to stop, No.

But most everything I wanted to create for BlogDumps is finished and I won’t be making very many more changes. The BlogDumps Directory and blog could use some new colors and be jazzed up a bit and I have a simple addition to the new blogdumps.com start page and then it’s back to the fun part for me… a couple of reviews a few opinions etc… yes blogging!

So any way that’s what’s up around here

Well, I tried to get akismet for BD Bloggers but they want cash, I wrote them and told them I offer blog hosting free.
I haven’t heard back from them. And if your like me I don’t like to wait around.

I have done some searching for a spam arrester so we don’t have to put up with all the spam comments.
I have installed Spam Karma 2 (SK2) it looks to be working and hasn’t done any damage to the site…YEA!
We have activated it on three of the blogs.

Here are the instrctions to activate the Plugin
1. (SK2) go to your dashboard and click on plugins you will find spam karma 2, activate it.
2. Go to your dashboard and click on manage.
3. Then click on spam karma 2 and take a look around this will complete the activation the (SK2) plugin for your blog

After activation you can configure your settings from there.
You will notice a Spammers beware of the dog on your blog.
This will disappear after (SK2) catches 2 spam comments.

I have looked this over and it looks like it should work well, but as always we are working to make the best blog hosting site here at BlogDumps so if you have any trouble please let me know.

I am going to install Akismit spam to the site…I am already getting some spam comments.

Akismit is a nice plugin but they want me to pay monthly for a multiple user site, go figure.

So anyway, I will get this done sometime this week, I am going to take a small break from the keyboard.

I hope you all like the new front page… We worked on it for what seemed like forever.

Creating a dynamic Page for a multiple user site proved to be difficult.

The hardest part was getting the feeds for the blogs on the BlogDumps Bloggers site to display. We hacked the plugin to death all day and it would not put the feeds on the front page.

About 3:45 am the other night… I can’t tell you which one they have all run together. I had a brainstorm- Ouch! - I told Trina we have our own feed reader, the plugin generates the right feeds, so lets just use our own reader.

Sounded great added it to the code and nothing… Then I figured out how to make it an .swf file for the reader that the SWF tab would accept and finally we finished about 4:30 am.

I like it much better then the default page. Trina says it adds a touch of class and I like all the wigets and stats stuff.

Well we made it the site is back up and on a dedicated server now.

I don’t think we lost any data blog posts etc…
